Historical background about the association

The idea of establishing the health improvement association started in response to the appeal  made by the Minister of Health in 1936 to contribute to facing tuberculosis, which was a serious pandemic in that time. Seven women responded to that call and took it upon themselves to care for the infected families, isolate the children from sources of infection, raise awareness about the disease and how to prevent it..
The seven women are the founders of the health improvement association :

  • Sharifa Mehrez
  • Layla Doss
